Fjestad's 'Blue Book of Gun Values' is the bible, but I've never found any of it available online (for free). Biggie ready to die gimme the loot. Www.gunbroker.com-- the 'ebay' for guns -- will give you a general idea. Edit - my Blue Book is a couple of editions old, but I'll be happy to help.

  • Blue Book of Gun Values Online Subscription. The Blue Book of Gun Values is available through our website as an online subscription! The online subscription contains the entire database of the current Blue Book of Gun Values, but it also has many features not available with the printed version, including quarterly updates, over 2,500 firearm images, complete search abilities, and inventory.
  • They haven't kept up with inflation for the last six years, much less increased in value. A Browning Citori 525 Sporting is called out as $2320 for “New in Box” in the same 2006 book. Now, six years later, the just released Browning 725 Sporting, a far superior gun in my estimation, can be had for $2600 and the field model for quite a bit less.

How much is my gun worth?

Much

Hi Gunnit, I have a Hi-Standard model HB from 1937 that I'm contemplating selling. I inherited it from my grandfather, but never take it out due to lack of time and not being able to find enough bullets (the most I've been able to purchase recently is a box of 50). Any ideas on how much it would be worth?

Edit: My Grandfather lives across the country and has never been involved in my life. Him giving me this gun is about the only interaction we've had.

Not only can we not give you a value, we can't even tell what KIND of gun it is just from a serial number. To give an approximate worth, we would need to know make, model, caliber, finish, and condition. The serial number does not tell that- and it is not unique to only one gun. PS- many of the older rifles in my collection HAVE no serial number. They were not required by law until 1968.
